CUCCIO
T3UV/LED HARD GELS
Cuccio has 2 different LED compatible hard gels. T3 UV/LED Controlled Levelling Gel and T3 UV/LED Self Levelling Gel. The biggest difference between the 2 is the consistency of the product and it really is down to technician’s preference with what consistency of product they wish to work with.
Cuccio T3 UV/LED Controlled Levelling Gel
T3 LED/UV Controlled Levelling Gel was launched in 2015 and took the industry by storm, proving today to still be one of our best-selling Hard Gel products.
Cuccio Professional T3 LED/UV Controlled Levelling Gel is a fantastic new innovative product for techs looking to either add another system to their treatment plan. This product gives techs both features and benefits from traditional gel and acrylic. It is also a great competition product due to its speed of application and crystal clear clarity – A great standalone product or one that’s also great for problem nails
This gel has been developed incorporating the latest technology and is both LED and UV compatible. The molecules are larger giving you a gel that needs less work time. Although the gel has a self-level ability, once it hits its limit, it stops moving and will stay put giving techs with less confidence or techs that like to work at a slower pace the time to create their nails, without the worry that the gel is going to spill into the surrounding soft tissue.
It has a much thicker viscosity than its rivals in the gel market and is ideal for any tech that has been thinking that they would love to make the change over to gel but are put off by the workings of traditional gel.
In recent years there has been an increase in clients entering the salon with problem nails for whatever reason, ranging from damage being created by other techs, or because people are feeling more confident as nails have become such a phenomenon in the UK and are happier to come to the salon with their problem nails. There are lots of problems that can occur once clients have been wearing extensions from lifting problems; brittleness of overlays – enhanced by the clients’ daily routines and work, and of course, our heavy-handed client that struggles to keep her nails on. This gel has been created with all of these clients in mind – Please note when working with any type of problem nail – whatever the problem may be, that extreme care must be taken with the natural nail. There has also been an increase in allergies over the last few years and so although extremely thorough allergy testing and client consultation must be carried out prior to application, always remember if you are ever in doubt over your client’s nail condition, do not treat and refer them to a GP.
This gel maintains its flexibility for as long as it is on the client’s nails, giving even the heavy-handed of your clients the ability to have extended wear time with their enhancements and coatings
There have been many techs over recent years looking to make the swap over from other systems to gel but have been put off by traditional gels for whatever reason – this gel truly does give any tech the option to be able to work with a gel that has many of the features of a traditional gel, such as no smell; no lifting; no brittleness and the benefits of acrylic such as, stronger product; a product that stays where you put it and doesn’t move and is great for sculpting with – Mix all of these benefits together and you have Cuccio T3 LED/UV Self Levelling Gel
This gel, due to its clarity and speed of application is a perfect gel for those techs looking to work in the competition field – also great for session techs, again because of its speed and thin application, giving the product a super strong and natural look to your feature work.

The product is of much thicker viscosity to traditional hard gels on the market giving the technician much more control over the application of the product. Gel technicians will find this gives them a quicker application time and perfectly sculpted nails. Acrylic technicians will find that this product is easier to convert to due to its thicker viscosity and control with the product.
There are 6 different gels within the Cuccio T3 LED/UV Self Levelling Gel range:
- Transparent Pink- designed to create a natural finish to the nails and is slightly thinner in viscosity.
- Opaque petal pink- designed to extend nail beds and mask any imperfections to the nail plate. This gel is thicker in viscosity due to the pigmentation. A pale pastel pink.

Troubleshooting for T3 LED/UV Controlled Levelling Gel
I’m not sure how long to cure the Gel for:
Each application of Gel needs 60 seconds cure with LED or 2 minutes UV. Do not be tempted to take the nails out and see that the top layer is hard and so it must be enough?! You will not be able to tell if the underneath layers are cured. Do not under cure the gel this will lead to overexposure.
The Gel is still sticky when I take it out of the lamp:
The gel will never fully cure due to oxygen inhibiting the curing process and so you will be left with an induction layer. This can safely be removed with Finishing Wipe.
The lamp is giving my client sharp pains:
- Sometimes a heat reaction can be felt when curing under the lamp. This can happen if the nail plate has been thinned too much?
- Or, you have applied the Gel too thickly?
- You are not using the lamp that was designed to go with the product that you are using?
- Ask the client to gently press their fingers onto the tray of the lamp to reduce the heat reaction.
When I wipe off the sticky layer the Gel is dull:
- You are not using the Lamp that is designed to go with the Gel.
- You are not curing for adequate times.
- You are using 1 wipe with Finishing Wipe for the whole hand which will transfer uncured Gel and makes the nails appear dull. Remember one wipe per nail and really clean off the induction layer.
- Your bulbs could need changing- this is advised with UV lamps after 4-6months of use.
After a couple of days there is lifting:
- Sufficient nail preparation wasn’t carried out.
- Ensure that when you apply the Gel it is not touching any soft tissue.
- You did not use Cuccio Veneer #1 Prep.
- You did not use Cuccio Veneer #2 Fuse.
- You did not manipulate the Gel into the nail plate.
- You are not using the lamp that is designed to go with this Gel.
- You are not curing the gel sufficiently.
The Gel has gone hard in the pot:
- Always ensure that you leave the lids on when you are working with Gel especially when near the lamp.
- You are sitting too close to a window with no protection from the sun and the UV has cured the product.
My Gel is full of tiny lumps:
- Make sure you work in a dust-free environment and keep lids on whilst you are not working with the gel.
When I am buffing the gel it is coming away in circular patches:
- You have not fully cured the gel Cure 60 seconds LED or 2 minutes UV.
- If curing LED you must be using the Cuccio Max Pro 5 LED lamp or Max Pro 2 LED lamp.
- The gel is too thick during the application, leading to an inadequate cure.
